Sigourney Savages (Sigourney, IA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Highland Huskies (Riverside, IA), 52-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sigourney upgrades its record to 7-11 on the campaign. The Savages host English Valleys (North English, IA) to play the Bears in a South Iowa Cedar bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 5-13. English Valleys won 65-15 in their recent non-league bout against Cedar Valley Christian (Cedar Rapids, IA)

Next up, the Huskies play the WACO Warriors (Wayland, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 15-0 record after their 94-29 non-league win over Columbus (Columbus Junction, IA).
