Clare Pioneers (Clare, MI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Sacred Heart Academy Irish (Mt. Pleasant, MI), 60-30 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Clare upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Shepherd (Shepherd, MI) to play the Bluejays in a Jack Pine bout on Thursday, January 26. The Bluejays go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Shepherd won 32-22 in their recent non-league bout against Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI)

Next up, the Irish play the Fulton Pirates (Middleton, MI) in a Mid-State bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Sacred Heart Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 38-29 league win over Breckenridge (Breckenridge, MI).
