In Tuesday's non-league outing, the A.J. Ellender Patriots (Houma, LA) basketball squad edged the host Dutchtown Griffins (Geismar, LA), by a margin of 59-55.
The Patriots (9-13) will now prepare for their outing against Morgan City (Morgan City, LA). The Tigers go into the 4A District 7 outing with a 6-14 record. In their last outing, Morgan City was tipped by Jeanerette (Jeanerette, LA), 50-33, in a non-league outing.
The Griffins now own a 13-11 record. They play next when they travel to Walker for a 5A District 5 outing on Friday, January 26. Dutchtown will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 53-49 non-league win over Woodlawn-B.R. (Baton Rouge, LA). The Wildcats record now stands at 12-12.
