Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ledyard Colonels (Ledyard, CT), 56-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wheeler upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Lions travel to Putnam (Putnam, CT) to play the Clippers in a Eastern Connecticut IV bout on Friday, January 26. The Clippers go into the bout with a record of 5-7. Putnam lost 54-38 in their recent league bout against Plainfield (Central Village, CT)

Next up, the Colonels play the Woodstock Academy Centaurs (Woodstock, CT) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Ledyard will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record.
