In Tuesday's league outing, the Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans (Woodhull, IL), by a count of 72-49.

The Golden Eagles (15-6) will now prepare for their outing against Morrison (Morrison, IL). The Mustangs go into the non-league outing with a 5-13 record. In their last outing, Morrison smashed Alleman (Rock Island, IL), 53-42, in a non-league outing.

The Spartans now hold a 7-14 record. They play next when they travel to Biggsville West Central for a non-league outing on Monday, January 29. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will clash with a Heat squad coming off a 65-34 league loss to Wethersfield (Kewanee, IL). The Heat record now stands at 1-19.
