The Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA) basketball nipped the host Elton Indians (Elton, LA), 32-27 in Tuesday's league test.
The Panthers (17-9) will now prepare for their test against East Beauregard (DeRidder, LA). The Trojans go into the 1A District 5 test with a 14-11 record. In their last test, East Beauregard got by Gueydan (Gueydan, LA), 56-3, in a league test.
The Indians now own a 10-12 record. They play next when they travel to Basile for a 1A District 5 test on Friday, January 26. Elton will encounter a Bearcats squad coming off a 57-15 non-league win over Westminster Christian Academy (Lafayette, LA). The Bearcats record now stands at 8-11.
