In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Hammondsport Lakers basketball team scored a big 69-40 triumph over the Alfred-Almond Eagles.

The Lakers (3-10) will now prepare for their contest against Penn Yan Academy (Penn Yan, NY). The Mustangs go into the non-league contest with a 0-12 record. In their last contest, Penn Yan Academy was trounced by Wayne (Ontario Center, NY), 70-25, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Mount Morris Blue Devils (Mount Morris, NY) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Alfred-Almond will attempt to better on its 1-13 season record. The Blue Devils go into the contest with a 5-6 record after their 59-51 league loss to York (Retsof, NY).
