Elkton/Lake Benton Elks (Elkton, SD) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Colman-Egan C-E Hawks (Colman, SD), 70-65 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Elkton/Lake Benton advances its record to 8-2 on the year. The Elks host Canby (Canby, MN) to face the Lancers in a non-league match on Saturday, January 25. The Lancers enter the match with a record of 0-14.
The C-E Hawks now own a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Castlewood for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 28. Colman-Egan will face a Warriors squad coming off a 49-44 non-league loss to Viborg/Hurley (Viborg, SD). The Warriors record now stands at 11-2.
