The Winfield Pirates basketball team scored 65 points and limited the visiting Phillips Bears to 41 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Pirates now have a 15-11 record. They play next when they travel to Florence for a non-league game on Tuesday, January 28. Winfield will confront a Falcons team coming off a 69-53 league win over Austin (Decatur, AL). The Falcons record now stands at 19-7.

With the loss, Phillips falls to 7-12 on the campaign. The Bears host Phil Campbell (Phil Campbell, AL) to confront the Bobcats in a non-league game on Friday, January 24. The Bobcats go into the game with a record of 12-16. Phil Campbell won 42-30 in their recent non-league game against Belgreen (Russellville, AL)
