Virginia High School Basketball - New Covenant held off by North Cross

January 23, 2025: Lynchburg, VA 24501

In Thursday's non-league test, the North Cross Raiders (Roanoke, VA) basketball squad got by the host New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), by a score of 34-28.

Next, the Raiders encounter the Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals (Ripplemead, VA) in a non-league test, on Friday, January 24. North Cross will attempt to improve on its 3-11 season record. The Cardinals come into the test with a 8-5 record after their 45-35 non-league loss to Mountain Mission (Grundy, VA).

The Gryphons (10-5) will now prepare for their test against Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA). The Bishops come into the VISAA Blue Ridge test with a 10-6 record. In their last test, Virginia Episcopal School was nipped by Carlisle (Axton, VA), 61-50, in a league test.
