Virginia High School Basketball - Mechanicsville can't hold off Armstrong

The Armstrong Wildcats basketball team scored 67 points and held the visiting Mechanicsville Mustangs to 65 in the Wildcats league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Henrico for a Capital contest on Friday, January 27. Armstrong will battle a Warriors team coming off a 67-64 league win over Patrick Henry (Ashland, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 8-9.

The Mustangs (1-15) will now prepare for their contest against Patrick Henry (Ashland, VA). The Patriots enter the Capital contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Patrick Henry was nudged by Henrico (Richmond, VA), 67-64, in a league contest.
