In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting Newton Eagles basketball team scored a tight 59-52 triumph over the Casey-Westfield Warriors.
In their next game, the Eagles meet the Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) in a non-league match, on Friday, January 27. Newton will attempt to better on its 15-7 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 16-4 record after their 55-53 non-league win over Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL).
With the defeat, Casey-Westfield moves to 14-5 on the year. The Warriors travel to Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL) to meet the Golden Aces in a Little Illini match on Friday, February 3. The Golden Aces enter the game with a record of 14-9.
