In Tuesday's league outing, the New Berlin Pretzels (New Berlin, IL) basketball squad edged the host Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL), by a count of 30-29.

The Pretzels (18-4) will now prepare for their outing against Illini Central (Mason City, IL). The Cougars go into the Sangamo outing with a 9-9 record. In their last outing, Illini Central was tipped by Williamsville (Williamsville, IL), 69-41, in a league outing.

The Cardinals now hold a 16-4 record. They play next when they travel to Riverton for a Sangamo outing on Friday, January 27. Pleasant Plains will clash with a Hawks squad coming off a 64-39 league loss to Auburn (Auburn, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 8-13.
