In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Chalmette Owls basketball team scored a good 64-54 triumph over the Phoenix Spartans.
In their next game, the Owls meet the West Jefferson Buccaneers (Harvey, LA) in a 5A District 8 match, on Friday, January 26. Chalmette will attempt to better on its 6-16 season record. The Buccaneers enter the match with a 8-18 record after their 70-55 non-league loss to King Charter (New Orleans, LA).
