The Eastland Cougars basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Lena-Winslow Panthers to 39 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Cougars now sport a 16-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Amboy for a non-league contest on Friday, January 26. Eastland will face a Clippers team coming off a 57-33 league loss to Polo (Polo, IL). The Clippers record now stands at 3-15.

With the defeat, Lena-Winslow moves to 13-6 on the year. The Panthers host Dakota (Dakota, IL) to face the Indians in a Northwest Upstate Illini - North game on Friday, January 26. The Indians enter the game with a record of 11-11. Dakota won 47-36 in their recent non-league game against Orangeville (Orangeville, IL)
