Newark Valley Cardinals (Newark Valley, NY) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Odessa-Montour Grizzlies (Odessa, NY), 61-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Newark Valley upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Cardinals host Watkins Glen (Watkins Glen, NY) to clash with the Lake Hawks in a Section 4 Interscholastic - South Large bout on Friday, January 26. The Lake Hawks go into the bout with a record of 5-8. Watkins Glen lost 60-53 in their recent non-league bout against Whitney Point (Whitney Point, NY)

Next up, the Grizzlies clash with the Tioga Tigers (Tioga Center, NY) in a Section 4 Interscholastic - South Small bout, on Friday, January 26. Odessa-Montour will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record.
