Virginia High School Basketball - Bishop Ireton trounces The Academy of the Holy Cross

The Bishop Ireton Cardinals (Alexandria, VA) basketball crushed the visiting The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans (Kensington, MD), 78-42 in Wednesday's league test.

The Cardinals (11-6) will now prepare for their test against St. John's (Washington, DC). The Cadets go into the DCSAA test with a 12-4 record. In their last test, St. John's walloped Elizabeth Seton (Bladensburg, MD), 60-47, in a league test.

The Tartans now own a 8-9 record. They play next when they host King's Christian Academy for a non-league test on Thursday, January 25. The Academy of the Holy Cross will encounter a squad coming off a 67-10 league win over Calverton (Huntingtown, MD). The record now stands at 10-7.
