In their next game, the Miners face the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) in a South Central game, on Thursday, January 25. Gillespie will attempt to move on its 20-6 season record. The Hiltoppers enter the game with a 11-14 record after their 60-29 non-league loss to Highland (Highland, IL).

With the defeat, New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly moves to 12-12 on the year. The Vipers travel to Rantoul (Rantoul, IL) to face the Eagles in a non-league game on Saturday, January 27. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 5-17. Rantoul lost 70-49 in their recent league game against St. Thomas More (Champaign, IL)
