The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sequoyah School Gryphons (Pasadena, CA) and the host EF Academy EF Academy (Pasadena, CA), observed Sequoyah School's basketball team knock off EF Academy by a score of 70-56.

The Gryphons (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Mesrobian (Pico Rivera, CA). The Bulldogs come into the International challenge with a 11-6 record.

In their next game, the EF Academy encounter the Chadwick Dolphins (Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA) in a Prep challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. EF Academy will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record. The Dolphins come into the challenge with a 9-6 record after their 70-50 league win over Rio Hondo Prep (Arcadia, CA).
