The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Metro Academy Mavericks (Shawnee Mission, KS) and the host Midland Adventist Academy Mustangs (Shawnee Mission, KS), observed Metro Academy's basketball team overwhelm Midland Adventist Academy by a score of 96-23.

The Mavericks (13-7) will now prepare for their challenge against North (Wichita, KS). The RedHawks come into the non-league challenge with a 1-9 record. In their last challenge, North trounced Schlagle (Kansas City, KS), 39-35, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Guadalupe Centers Aztecs (Kansas City, MO) in a Great Plains challenge, on Monday, January 27. Midland Adventist Academy will attempt to improve on its 9-3 season record. The Aztecs come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 34-19 league win over Frontier STEM (Kansas City, MO).
