Iowa High School Basketball - Newell-Fonda holds off Southeast Valley

In Friday's league contest, the visiting Newell-Fonda Mustangs basketball team scored a close 65-58 triumph over the Southeast Valley Jaguars.
The Mustangs (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Emmetsburg (Emmetsburg, IA). The E'Hawks go into the Twin Lakes contest with a 12-3 record. In their last contest, Emmetsburg nipped South O'Brien (Paullina, IA), 45-37, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Jaguars confront the Pocahontas Indians (Pocahontas, IA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Southeast Valley will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record. The Indians go into the contest with a 2-12 record after their 64-58 non-league loss to Emmetsburg (Emmetsburg, IA).
