The Springfield Senators basketball team (Springfield, IL), was nudged 38-37 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting Quincy Blue Devils (Quincy, IL)
The Blue Devils now possess a 7-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Galesburg for a Western Big 6 battle on Thursday, January 27. Quincy will confront a Silver Streaks team coming off a 54-35 non-league loss to Morton (Morton, IL). The Silver Streaks record now stands at 17-8.
The Senators (17-8) will now prepare for their battle against Normal University (Normal, IL). The Pioneers come into the Central State Eight battle with a 10-15 record. In their last battle, Normal University edged Glenwood (Chatham, IL), 34-31, in a league battle.
