Averroes Falcon (Fremont, CA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Emery Spartans (Emeryville, CA), 58-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Averroes upgrades its record to 12-2 on the campaign. The Falcon travel to Quarry Lane (Dublin, CA) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 26. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 7-8. Quarry Lane won 38-30 in their recent non-league bout against Emery (Emeryville, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Summit K2 Dragons (El Cerrito, CA) in a Bay Area Independent bout, on Friday, January 27. Emery will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Dragons come into the bout with a 0-15 record after their 74-47 non-league loss to Summit Tamalpais (Richmond, CA).
