Round Valley Elks (Eagar, AZ) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Morenci Wildcats (Morenci, AZ), 58-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Round Valley upgrades its record to 12-7 on the season. The Elks host Many Farms (Many Farms, AZ) to clash with the Lobos in a 2A North bout on Thursday, January 26. The Lobos go into the bout with a record of 3-16. Many Farms won 74-36 in their recent league bout against Greyhills Academy (Tuba City, AZ)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Tombstone Yellow Jackets (Tombstone, AZ) in a 2A East bout, on Monday, January 30. Morenci will attempt to upgrade on its 13-8 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 6-12 record after their 71-61 league win over Santa Rita (Tucson, AZ).
