Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the St. Laurence Vikings (Burbank, IL) and the host Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL), saw St. Laurence's basketball squad hold off Shepard by a tally of 46-39.

With the victory, St. Laurence improves its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Fenwick (Oak Park, IL) to confront the Friars in a Girls Catholic - Red challenge on Monday, January 30. The Friars come into the challenge with a record of 12-14. Fenwick lost 55-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Benet Academy (Lisle, IL)

Next up, the Astros confront the Lemont Lemont HS (Lemont, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Shepard will attempt to improve on its 13-8 season record. The Lemont HS come into the challenge with a 14-9 record after their 57-41 league win over Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL).
