Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans (Gilbert, AZ) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Veritas Prep Falcons (Phoenix, AZ), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions (Scottsdale, AZ) in a 3A Metro challenge, on Friday, January 27. Gilbert Classical Academy will attempt to better on its 10-1 season record. The Centurions enter the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 8-0 league loss to Chandler Prep (Chandler, AZ).

The Falcons now have a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Gilbert Christian for a non-league challenge on Monday, January 30. Veritas Prep will confront a Knights team coming off a 3-0 league win over American Leadership Academy - Ironwood (Ironwood, AZ). The Knights record now stands at 11-4.
