Beardstown Tigers (Beardstown, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Carrollton Hawks (Carrollton, IL), 62-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Beardstown upgrades its record to 17-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Griggsville-Perry (Griggsville, IL) to play the Tornadoes in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Tornadoes come into the bout with a record of 19-4. Griggsville-Perry won 51-37 in their recent non-league bout against Rushville-Industry (Rushville, IL)

Next up, the Hawks play the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers (Greenfield, IL) in a Western Illinois Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Carrollton will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record.
