Brookfield Academy Blue Knights (Brookfield, WI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Messmer Bishops (Milwaukee, WI), 79-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Brookfield Academy upgrades its record to 14-1 on the season. The Blue Knights travel to Lake Country Lutheran (Hartland, WI) to play the Lightning in a Midwest Classic bout on Saturday, January 27. The Lightning go into the bout with a record of 9-3. Lake Country Lutheran won 71-58 in their recent non-league bout against Milwaukee Lutheran (Milwaukee, WI)

Next up, the Bishops play the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves (Jackson, WI) in a Midwest Classic bout, on Saturday, January 27. Messmer will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Timberwolves go into the bout with a 9-7 record after their 78-75 non-league win over Mayville (Mayville, WI).
