Caldwell Chiefs (West Caldwell, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ), 65-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Caldwell upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Chiefs host Clifton (Clifton, NJ) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 25. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 6-10. Clifton lost 31-29 in their recent league bout against Passaic (Passaic, NJ)

Next up, the Knights play the University Phoenix (Newark, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. West Essex will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Phoenix go into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 65-57 league loss to North Star Academy (Newark, NJ).
