In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Monmouth Academy Mustangs basketball team scored a tight 59-56 triumph over the Spruce Mountain Phoenix.
In their next game, the Mustangs meet the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls (Old Orchard Beach, ME) in a C South match, on Monday, January 29. Monmouth Academy will attempt to move on its 10-3 season record. The Seagulls enter the match with a 6-6 record after their 62-57 non-league win over Poland (Poland, ME).
With the defeat, Spruce Mountain moves to 9-4 on the year. The Phoenix travel to Cony (Augusta, ME) to meet the Rams in a non-league match on Saturday, January 27. The Rams enter the match with a record of 5-8. Cony lost 68-57 in their recent non-league match against Oxford Hills (South Paris, ME)
