The Classical Purples (Providence, RI) basketball felled the visiting Woonsocket Villa Novans (Woonsocket, RI), 47-37 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Purples (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Westerly (Westerly, RI). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 7-1 record. In their last test, Westerly was beaten by Cranston East (Cranston, RI), 59-56, in a non-league test.
The Villa Novans now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they host Central for a non-league test on Monday, January 29. Woonsocket will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 61-41 non-league loss to Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI). The Knights record now stands at 6-3.
