McCutcheon Mavericks (Lafayette, IN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Western Panthers (Russiaville, IN), 58-45 in a non-league challenge.

With the victory, McCutcheon upgrades its record to 19-3 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to West Lafayette (West Lafayette, IN) to play the Red Devils in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 27. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a record of 13-9. West Lafayette won 53-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Harrison (West Lafayette, IN)

Next up, the Panthers play the Twin Lakes Indians (Monticello, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 31. Western will attempt to upgrade on its 16-5 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 14-9 record after their 69-29 non-league win over Logansport (Logansport, IN).
