Union Local Jets (Belmont, OH) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Monroe Central Seminoles (Woodsfield, OH), 37-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Union Local upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Jets travel to Martins Ferry (Martins Ferry, OH) to play the Purple Riders in a Buckeye 8 bout on Monday, January 29. The Purple Riders come into the bout with a record of 14-4. Martins Ferry won 68-23 in their recent non-league bout against Brooke (Wellsburg, WV)

Next up, the Seminoles play the Catholic Central Crusaders (Steubenville, OH) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Monroe Central will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record.
