Vanguard Panthers (Lake Wales, FL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Ridge Christian Academy Eagles (Davenport, FL), 23-21 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Vanguard upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to McLaughlin (Lake Wales, FL) to play the Phoenix in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The Phoenix come into the bout with a record of 3-5.

Next up, the Eagles play the Classical Christian School for the Arts Knights (Pinellas Park, FL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Ridge Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record.
