The Barrow Whalers basketball squad (Utqiagvik, AK), was outscored 64-54 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Lathrop Malemutes (Fairbanks, AK)
With the victory, Lathrop advances its record to 8-7 on the year. The Malemutes travel to North Pole (North Pole, AK) to meet the Patriots in a 4A Mid Alaska battle on Tuesday, January 28. The Patriots enter the battle with a record of 2-10. North Pole won 77-49 in their recent non-league battle against Delta (Delta Junction, AK)
The Whalers now own a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bethel for a 3A Western battle on Friday, January 31. Barrow will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 79-53 non-league loss to Mt. Edgecumbe (Sitka, AK). The Warriors record now stands at 9-4.
