The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes (Mount Vernon, WA) and the host Northwest Yeshiva Lions (Mercer Island, WA), observed Mount Vernon Christian's basketball team overwhelm Northwest Yeshiva by a score of 78-42.
The Hurricanes (9-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Coupeville (Coupeville, WA). The Wolves come into the 1B/2B Northwest challenge with a 6-10 record. In their last challenge, Coupeville trounced Orcas Island (Eastsound, WA), 52-47, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Lions battle the Darrington Loggers (Darrington, WA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 27. Northwest Yeshiva will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Loggers come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 67-50 league loss to La Conner (La Conner, WA).
