The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) and the host Falkner Eagles (Falkner, MS), observed Walnut's basketball team overwhelm Falkner by a score of 67-40.

The Wildcats (23-2) will now prepare for their challenge against New Site (New Site, MS). The Royals come into the 2A Region 1 challenge with a 15-8 record. In their last challenge, New Site trounced Hamilton (Hamilton, MS), 57-18, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Byers Lions (Holly Springs, MS) in a 1A Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Falkner will attempt to improve on its 13-7 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 8-13 record after their 54-36 league loss to Pine Grove (Ripley, MS).
