South Dakota High School Basketball - Boyd County fells Burke

January 26, 2023: Burke, SD 57523

Boyd County Spartans (Spencer, NE) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Burke Cougars (Burke, SD), 54-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Boyd County upgrades its record to 7-6 on the season. The Spartans travel to North Central (Bassett, NE) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 5-8. North Central lost 63-51 in their recent non-league bout against Creighton (Creighton, NE)

Next up, the Cougars play the Tripp-Delmont/Armour Nighthawks (Armour, SD) in a B Region 5 bout, on Friday, January 27. Burke will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Nighthawks go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 55-33 non-league win over Centerville (Centerville, SD).
