Gainesville Christian Community Warriors (Gainesville, FL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders (Jacksonville, FL), 59-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gainesville Christian Community improves its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to First Assembly Christian Academy (Ocala, FL) to confront the Eagles in a Southeastern Christian challenge on Friday, January 27. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 12-3. First Assembly Christian Academy won 64-20 in their recent league challenge against Corinth Christian Academy (Jasper, FL)

Next up, the Defenders confront the Northside Christian Academy (Starke, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 27. Old Plank Christian Academy will attempt to improve on its 3-16 season record.
