Highland Scots (Cowiche, WA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Oroville Hornets (Oroville, WA), 56-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Highland upgrades its record to 2-14 on the campaign. The Scots travel to Granger (Granger, WA) to play the Spartans in a 2B Eastern Washington - West bout on Friday, January 27. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 1-14. Granger won 83-74 in their recent league bout against Goldendale (Goldendale, WA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Brewster Bears (Brewster, WA) in a 2B Central Washington bout, on Friday, January 27. Oroville will attempt to upgrade on its 0-17 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 14-4 record after their 80-66 league win over Tonasket (Tonasket, WA).
