Salem Lions (Salem, IN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Austin Eagles (Austin, IN), 27-22 in a league bout.

With the victory, Salem upgrades its record to 5-18 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Madison (Madison, IN) to play the Cubs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Cubs come into the bout with a record of 9-11. Madison lost 65-58 in their recent non-league bout against Trinity Lutheran (Seymour, IN)

Next up, the Eagles play the Clarksville Generals (Clarksville, IN) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Austin will attempt to upgrade on its 14-9 season record. The Generals come into the bout with a 5-17 record after their 60-49 non-league win over South Central (Elizabeth, IN).
