The New Providence Pioneers (New Providence, NJ) basketball knocked off the host Columbia Cougars (Maplewood, NJ), 44-35 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Pioneers (10-4) will now prepare for their test against Roselle Catholic (Roselle, NJ). The Lions go into the Union County - Valley test with a 7-7 record. In their last test, Roselle Catholic notched a victory over Oak Knoll (Summit, NJ), 70-53, in a non-league test.
The Cougars now own a 5-10 record. They play next when they host Caldwell for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 31. Columbia will encounter a Chiefs squad coming off a 50-25 non-league win over West Caldwell Tech (West Caldwell, NJ). The Chiefs record now stands at 3-7.
