Vista Grande Spartans (Casa Grande, AZ) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Apache Junction Prospectors (Apache Junction, AZ), 5-3 in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans face the Tempe Buffaloes (Tempe, AZ) in a 4A Black Canyon challenge, on Monday, January 30. Vista Grande will attempt to better on its 3-12 season record. The Buffaloes enter the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 3-2 league loss to Coronado (Scottsdale, AZ).

The Prospectors now have a 2-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cortez for a 4A Black Canyon challenge on Monday, January 30. Apache Junction will face a Colts team coming off a 2-1 league win over Dysart (El Mirage, AZ). The Colts record now stands at 8-2.
