Maryland High School Basketball - Westlake can't hold off Chopticon

January 26, 2024: Morganza, MD 20660

The Chopticon Braves basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Westlake Wolverines to 54 in the Braves league victory on Friday.

The Braves now sport a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Point for a Southern Maryland contest on Wednesday, January 31. Chopticon will battle a Eagles team coming off a 62-56 league win over Thomas Stone (Waldorf, MD). The Eagles record now stands at 5-8.

The Wolverines (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against Northern (Owings, MD). The Patriots come into the Southern Maryland contest with a 8-3 record. In their last contest, Northern edged La Plata (La Plata, MD), 44-40, in a league contest.
