The Smithville Seminoles basketball team scored 74 points and restricted the host Jumpertown Cardinals to 65 in the Seminoles non-league victory on Friday.
The Seminoles now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Lowndes for a 1A Region 4 contest on Monday, January 29. Smithville will battle a Panthers team coming off a 73-54 league win over Vardaman (Vardaman, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 13-10.
The Cardinals (3-16) will now prepare for their contest against Byers (Holly Springs, MS). The Lions come into the 1A Region 2 contest with a 17-4 record. In their last contest, Byers prevailed over Pine Grove (Ripley, MS), 64-36, in a league contest.
