Westminster Academy Crusaders (Opelousas, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host North Central Hurricanes (Lebeau, LA), 47-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Westminster Academy upgrades its record to 11-12 on the season. The Crusaders host St. Edmund (Eunice, LA) to play the Fighting Blue Jays in a 1A District 6 bout on Friday, February 2. The Fighting Blue Jays go into the bout with a record of 6-13.

Next up, the Hurricanes play the Sacred Heart Trojans (Ville Platte, LA) in a 1A District 6 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. North Central will attempt to upgrade on its 15-10 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 13-13 record after their 77-21 league win over Catholic of Pointe Coupee (New Roads, LA).
