In Friday's non-league outing, the Viola Longhorns (Viola, AR) basketball squad nipped the visiting Omaha Eagles (Omaha, AR), by a margin of 49-44.
The Longhorns (14-18) will now prepare for their outing against Shirley (Shirley, AR). The Blue Devils go into the 1A Region 2 outing with a 13-7 record. In their last outing, Shirley got by Calico Rock (Calico Rock, AR), 72-60, in a league outing.
The Eagles now own a 13-11 record. They play next when they travel to Mount Judea for a 1A Region 1 East outing on Monday, January 29. Omaha will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 70-20 league loss to Lead Hill (Lead Hill, AR). The Eagles record now stands at 1-17.
