The Opelousas Catholic Vikings (Opelousas, LA) basketball crushed the host St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA), 77-40 in Friday's league test.
The Vikings (9-13) will now prepare for their test against Catholic of Pointe Coupee (New Roads, LA). The Hornets go into the 1A District 6 test with a 8-10 record. In their last test, Catholic of Pointe Coupee was trounced by Sacred Heart (Ville Platte, LA), 77-21, in a league test.
The Fighting Blue Jays now own a 6-12 record. They play next when they travel to St. Charles Catholic for a non-league test on Saturday, January 27. St. Edmund will encounter a Comets squad coming off a 61-51 non-league loss to St. Martin's Episcopal (Metairie, LA). The Comets record now stands at 14-4.
