The Smith Center Redmen basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Phillipsburg Panthers to 41 in the Redmen non-league triumph on Friday.

The Redmen now sport a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hoxie for a Mid-Continent contest on Tuesday, January 30. Smith Center will meet a Indians team coming off a 75-29 non-league loss to Goodland (Goodland, KS). The Indians record now stands at 5-8.

The Panthers (8-6) will now prepare for their contest against Hill City (Hill City, KS). The Ringnecks enter the non-league contest with a 8-3 record. In their last contest, Hill City nudged Oakley (Oakley, KS), 68-48, in a non-league contest.
