In Friday's non-league match, the host South Vermillion Wildcats basketball team scored a tight 66-61 triumph over the Shakamak Lakers.
In their next game, the Wildcats meet the North Vermillion Falcons (Cayuga, IN) in a Wabash River match, on Thursday, February 1. South Vermillion will attempt to better on its 9-8 season record. The Falcons enter the match with a 10-8 record after their 67-50 non-league win over Chrisman (Chrisman, IL).
With the defeat, Shakamak moves to 7-8 on the year. The Lakers host North Central (Farmersburg, IN) to meet the Thunderbirds in a Southwestern Indiana match on Saturday, January 27. The Thunderbirds enter the match with a record of 8-7. North Central lost 74-60 in their recent league match against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, IN)
